It seems that the telecom data war is not going to end anytime soon and the recent Vodafone-Idea Cellular merger has further increased the competition in the market. Recently, Airtel introduced combo recharge packs of Rs 35, Rs 65 and Rs 95. Now, the telco has expanded this combo series and has rolled out a new recharge pack of Rs 97.
Under these combo plans Airtel is offering calling benefits with data and longer period of validity. With these combo plans the telco aims to take on Reliance Jio. With the new Rs 97 plan, Airtel wants to compete against the Rs 98 recharge pack of Reliance Jio.
Under the Rs 97 plan, Airtel offers 350 minutes of local, STD and roaming voice calls. Along with this, Airtel subscribers will also get 1.5GB data and 200 local and STD SMS under the plan. This new plan from Airtel comes with the validity of 28 days. In order to get this plan, Airtel users need to go to the official website or use the My Airtel app.
The Rs 97 recharge plan from Airtel will face competition from Rs 98 plan of Reliance Jio. Under the Rs 98 plan, Reliance Jio offers 2GB data, 300 SMS and unlimited local and STD calling benefits. The plan comes with the validity of 28 days and also offers access to all the Jio suite apps for free.
Recently, Airtel introduced Rs 419 plan for its prepaid subscribers. Airtel has introduced Rs 419 prepaid plan which is an upgrade to the Rs 399 plan. Under the Rs 419 plan, the service provider offers 1.4GB data and 100 SMS per day. Along with this, users will also get unlimited local and STD calling for the period of 75 days.
In a related news, Airtel rolled out an offer in which the telco was giving Amazon Pay digital Gift Card worth Rs. 51 for both its prepaid and postpaid customers. Now the company had revealed that about 5 million plus customers have availed this gift card from Airtel to load their Amazon Pay Balance.
Airtel had announced the card in a joint partnership with Amazon as part of its 23rd-anniversary celebrations as a gesture to thank customers. The card can be availed by Airtel prepaid customers on a bundled pack of Rs. 100 or higher, and postpaid customers on any Infinity plan.
